How to Play Lego Universe In 2025

Lego Universe Private Server Access

Lego Universe was released in October 2010 and closed down in January 2012, which meant it was Live for a whole 15 months… However in that time, it was popular enough that it left a lot of people feeling sad about it’s closure… so much so, that it has been revived thanks to some backwards engineering and the use of Private Servers.

How to play in 2025

There are a number of ways you can play Lego Universe, this can be through a public server or on a private server with friends. 

Depending on the option you choose, will determine what downloads you will need. 

Public Servers

There are a number of Public servers to choose from, however some have been known to charge money for you to be able to play on them, or to use items in game…personally I would avoid these types of servers. 

Nexus Universe 

The public server I personally played on was the Nexus Universe server which requires you to register with them before you can play. It also includes the client download and is pretty easy to setup. You will require Discord access but lets be honest, who doesn’t use Discord in this day and age.

I haven’t had the chance to check this one out myself yet, but I’ve heard good things about it.

Private Servers 

If you want to play with friends or play on an exclusive server, then you will need to be setup for Private server access. This is a bit more complex because you will need your Lego Universe install to match what the server is running… also you will need a copy of Lego Universe. 

Obviously you will have your original copy of the game in order to play, but if you don’t because maybe you lost it or your dog ate it, you can find the client on the internet… by googling lego universe client 1.10 64

Dark Flame Universe

The Dark Flame Universe team are the masterminds behind getting Lego Universe playable again. A lot of the public and private servers run on what they have essentially setup. Although people can host public servers using the setup that the Dark Flame Universe team have created, they don’t actively condone it.

They are currently in talks with the Lego Group to try and revive Lego Universe so for obvious reasons, they don’t want to be promoting unlicensed copies of their game.

Issue Loading Advant Gardens 

I know this seems like an odd issue to have, but essentially after the firs tutorial zone you travel to Advent Gardens. Now, with my play through, i got stuck on a load screen where it wouldn’t get past 55% and I’ve seen other people with similar issues. 

The Fix? 

According to the Lego Universe Discord, this is caused by the Server being hosted in West Coast America and it essentially timing out. So to fix this, you need to use a VPN and set your location to America.

I can indeed confirm this worked.
