Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 HUGE Announcement

2024 Release

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is set to release this year! It’s been 6 years since the original KCD released and in that time, WarHorse Studios has been working on the sequel 

I was lucky enough to be invited to preview the game early and here are some of my hot takes from what i was shown… 

Its 2 times BIGGER!

In the preview they stated that they were able to do a lot more this time around, so much so, that the game is two times bigger then the first! They have also included 5 hours of cut scenes, compared to the 3 hours in the first one. WarHorse have also stated it takes place in Kuttenberg as well as Bohemian Paradise. It’s unclear if it will be one big map or perhaps split down into two. Think the Witcher 3 and how they had the main land and the islands. 

Comabt

The combat in Kingdom Come Deliverance has always been something special. It reminds me of Chivalry 2 and Mordhau, the way it actually takes skills and precision to pull of combos. On top of that, you don’t just start out being able to fight anyone! You have to get good! 

In the trailer we got a sneak peak of some new combos and a few new weapons. It looks like they will be introducing Crossbows and almost a musket like weapon. I’m personally hoping for maybe a few additional weapons, would a flail be too much to ask for? Either way though, they seem to be sticking to the same formula as its predecessor and overall combat looks good, if not better! 

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Plot?

The story follows on from the first but not only that, they have stated that you wont need to play the first one to understand what’s going on in the second title. I wont go too much into the spoilers of the first, in fact you can watch my video below for that, but with this information it does raise a few concerns. 

For me the best part of KCD was going from peon to knight. However how ill this working following on from the first KCD where you are a lords son who has been trained in combat… will you start at level 0 or will there be some known skills already. Perhaps I’m over thinking it, but either way, I look forward to seeing how it all pans out.  

GOTY 2024?

Some of you will say it’s too early to tell, but on a personal level i think it has Game of the year written all over it. The first one was incredible! All they have to do is release the same game but with a new story and it will be an instant winner. So no pressure WarHorse… I’m sure you will smash it
