Pax Dei – Everything You Need to Know
Should You Buy Pax Dei Early Access? …. No
I’m just going to be blunt here… They have rushed the game out into Early Access to drive up some revenue as they are clearly low on funds. I don’t think it’s right that they can release such a bare bones game and charge up to $100 for you to “test” in early access.
Personally, I have no plans to play this game until I see some actual improvements and feedback being taken on board.

Pax Dei – Early Access
Pax Dei is officially in early access and available on the steam store… and I have to say… I am very disappointed.
For some reason i was invited to try the Early Access build out before go live and I was nothing but disappointed.
I made a video prior to the go Live and everything I said within it, is still valid, as they hadnt changed anything from the Alpha 2 testing to the Early Access build… and now they want to charge you money for it.

Alpha 2 Testing & Disappointment
We got told that the combat in the first alpha was just a place holder, as they were more interested in testing other elements of the game… that’s fair enough..
But in the 2nd Alpha, the combat was only slightly better, which is worrying considering how important the combat is to any game.
Now I wouldn’t be so up tight about this, if it wasn’t for the fact that they are planning early access sooner then anyone could of guessed. At this point it seems unlikely that the combat will change from Alpha 2 to Early Access , which is scheduled before the end of June.
Obviously, we have to see what they come back with, but as it stands… things are looking woeful.
Let’s also not forget the fact that there is still a long grind for basic items, no in depth character creator and no signs of Voip or other tools to make it more of a social mmo…

The Wilderness Alpha – April 23
On the 23rd of April, 2024 Pax Dei will be once again opening their doors to their Alpha Testing!
Here is what you can expect from the 2nd Alpha which i will be streaming LIVE on YouTube! Don’t panic if you miss the stream though, as the VOD will be available for everyone to see.

Pax Dei’s second large-scale Alpha test will start on April 23rd, 2024, and last a week.

Codenamed “Wilderness,” this Alpha test will invite you to explore beyond your home valley.

We plan to invite at least 100,000 players from day 1, including players who were part of the first Alpha.

This Alpha won’t be confidential (aka “It will be ok to stream the game”).

Alpha Testing (1st Alpha) – First Impressions
I was lucky enough to get access to their first public Alpha and boy was I surprised at how much progress they have made. Pax Dei aims to be a social MMO with open world PVP and of course the usual adventuring you would expect from a MMORPG.
However… what makes Pax Dei stand out is their focus on survival and building.
Think Valheim but Unreal Engine 5.
I’m yet to give a full review but if you want to check out what I got up to in my play test, I’ve linked my stream below.
